Exhibit 2025

“כוונות”/ “Kavanot”

We, the students of Kivunim, have been explorers of the complex relationship between Jews, Judaism and host societies across much of the world for the past ten months. We have been ingrained with an intentional methodology of learning. As we explore cultures, ethnicities, personal and communal histories, and our own Jewish identities, we have approached each unique experience with curiosity and openness.

Kivunim is a year of intellectual curiosity, building cross-cultural understanding, and international exploration through an exploration of Judaism and the many diverse religions and cultures of the world. Through each international journey, each class, and each “kivun” (pathway) taken, it has been an intellectually and spiritually demanding year of deep exploration and serious growth. Whether it be engaging with the small but powerful Jewish community of Bulgaria, meeting The Dalai Lama while learning about Tibetan Buddhism in Dharamsala, India or studying the rich Jewish history of Prague, our experiences are part of the multifaceted fabric of narratives that Kivunim provides as a means to understand the nuance of the relationship between the Jewish people and the surrounding world.

Our exhibition, entitled “כוונות”/ “Kavanot” (intentions) seeks to convey the immense and intentional experience of Kivunim 2024/2025 through the personal photographic lens of our students. From international trips to our home in Jerusalem, each individual image is a piece in a mosaic composed of our evolution and development as thinkers and leaders, as well as a reflection of the many meaningful encounters and special moments of a year marked by conflict, love, pain, and immense beauty.
